Dr. Navita K.J. Johnson-Belcher

Founder/Minister

Dr. Navita K.J. Johnson-Belcher, DMin., LPC, LCDC, CART is an ordained and licensed minister, licensed clinician, and U.S. Air Force disabled veteran with over 16 years of clinical experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science Summa Cum Laude and Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College, where she was inducted into the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences. She holds licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the State of Texas, and is certified as a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist™ (CART) through The Center for Anger Resolution, Inc.

Dr. Johnson-Belcher earned her Certificate of Achievement from Potter's House School of Ministry (Class of 2023) and completed her Doctor of Ministry at George Fox University/Portland Seminary in collaboration with Jakes Divinity School, where she received the 2024–2025 Outstanding Student Award. Her doctoral research produced The Perseverance Model™ — the Digital Trauma-Informed, Biblically-Based Mental Health Education (DTI-BB-MHE)™ framework — equipping faith communities to address trauma and mental health through a biblical lens. She is also the founder of Perseverance Academy™, a biblically grounded mental health education platform operating under Perseverance Counseling & Consulting, LLC.

Ordained since 2011 and licensed to preach the Gospel through Abiding Fellowship Christian Church (Houston, TX, 2024), Dr. Johnson-Belcher founded Perseverance Ministries in 2021 — a 501(c)(3) online ministry dedicated to teaching the Word, healing the mind, and strengthening the spirit. With over 16 years of experience serving trauma survivors, incarcerated individuals, students, and faith communities, she is uniquely prepared to lead a ministry where Biblical truth meets emotional healing.
